The reminders now allow other types of meeting links other than just Google Meets (as per request here).

Fixed scheduled reminders (and improved them)
After a couple of months of this feature not working due to an external dependency,
we have fixed it
. The solution leverages the Google Apps Scripts capability, which can run processes in the background.The only drawback is that we can only set up hourly runs, which means that the scheduled reminder will run only every hour, somehow at a random time. Therefore
we cannot ensure the exact minute the reminder will be sent
, only that it will be sent at around X hours before the event.We also took the time to make
the scheduled reminders configurable up to 72 hours before
the event happens (as requested here).We also

for the scheduled reminder template (as requested here).The template section forced users to input

to enter line breaks, which is not intuitive for the average user
. We have updated the templates to allow the user to write without complex formatting (WYSIWYG-format).As per this feature request, you can now define the Subject line of the reminders in the
Edit Template
section.
After a few iterations in the feature request, the ability to send SMS is live through an integration with Twilio.
To use the SMS functionality, you need to create a Twilio account and
add credits to it
. Once you have an account, enter your Twilio credentials in the SMS Settings
menu in the add-on.
Remember, these reminders only work for contacts with phone numbers in Google Contacts.
The decision to make the user signup to Twilio allows for i)

If you prefer to have a credit system instead, please leave the feedback in Feature Requests.Unfortunately, the automatic reminder features is dependent on a bug in the technology I use that might take a few more weeks to get solved. I keep pressuring the provider, but I hope it still gets solved within August.

If the contact doesn't exist,
the app is now able to detect and skip {{firstName}} and {{lastName}}

We have 3 new features being released today:
- Insert {{name}} at templates: you can now insert {{firstName}} and {{lastName}} to better address the recipient;
- Create a Remind All button: there is an All button at the top of the meeting card, in case you want to spam all the participants (including you!)
- Add date and time to the template: you can now add {{date}} and {{time}} to the template.
You have been asking for Allowing reminders 24 hours (or customisable amount) before but unfortunately we are still waiting for our provider's software release to allow this to happen. I believe it will still be in July.
Allow SMS sending is also being baked!
